Volunteer opportunities at Guadalupe Center
Loaves and Fishes: This program provides emergency food and clothing to those in need. The food pantry is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9:00 to Noon. The Clothing Store is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 1 :00 p.m.
ESL Classes: English and a Second Language classes are offered by the Los Angeles Unified School District on Monday through Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and from 12:00 Noon to 2:30 p.m.
Learning Center Tutoring: Skill enhancement in reading, arithmetic, social studies, health and science. Monday through Thursday, 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Bilingual tutors and volunteers.
Sports and Recreation: Organized year-round leagues for children, ages 5 through 17. Games, field trips and much more, Monday through Friday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:3- p.m.
Art and Music, Folklorico, Jazz and Hip Hop Dance: Free weekly classes are provided by local teachers for boys and girls ages 5 through 12. There are opportunities for community performances.

OASIS Senior Citizen Program: Targets the frail elderly regardless of income level. Its goal is to help the elderly remain independent as long as possible and avoid institutionalization. Volunteers from parishes and other congregations are given extensive training to prepare them to assist the elderly in their homes.
Pre-School: A free pre-school is available for 3 to 5 year old children on Monday through Friday. Session 1 is from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.; Session II is from 12:00 Noon to 3:00 p.m.
Holiday Programs: Thanksgiving Dinner is provided each year to hundreds of people. Many local families are given store scrip and gifts, donated by families from local Catholic parishes, through the Center’s annual Christmas Caring and Sharing Program. The children of our clients are treated to a gala Christmas party each year, which includes a special visit with Santa.
