Embryonic stem-cell
research (ESCR) is now the preeminent polarizing issue. This is
especially true in California where voters approved a three billion
state bond issue authorizing the use of tax dollars to fund this
research. The author, a pro-life Catholic who "lacked fluency
in the terms of the debate" explains in a non-scientific way
what ESCR is and why proponents believe it has more potential than
adult stem-cells, even though adult stem-cell use, which has been
approved by the Catholic Church has shown much more promise than
ESCR. He also lays out the reasons for the Church's vehement
opposition.
